BUSINESS PLAN AND ACTIONS
SUSTAINABLE WALL SYSTEMS
Relocatable partition walls are in themselves a very environmentally conscious system. By using our Flush system walls you emphasize the sustainability of your buildings. The Flush partitions are budget-friendly, environmentally conscious and fit into a green living environment thanks to their great flexibility. Your company is growing. Departments are added or bundled. The available space must be able to be quickly and seamlessly adapted to any changing needs. Thanks to their well-thought-out concept, the Flush system walls create a stylish and functional working environment in no time. The Flush system walls grow with you and guarantee optimal use of the available space at all times. Our system walls are 100% reusable. Changes to your office spaces are carried out quickly and without destruction or pollution. Our system walls have many advantages compared to conventional partition walls. The biggest advantages are simple and quick installation, ready-made delivery, dry installation (compared to plasterboard walls) and great flexibility in reuse. Acoustic, fire-resistant and aesthetic properties remain intact even after dismantling and reassembling our wall systems. Apart from the reusability of our system walls themselves, they can all also be dismantled almost 100% into each individual component. This way, everything can be recycled in the correct waste stream if our walls are not reused.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
From sustainable design to sustainable parts. The flexibility and very high quality of all materials used guarantee an exceptionally long lifespan of our system walls. Our system walls are made from the maximum possible percentage of recycled materials. We use chipboard with a PEFC label and lowest formaldehyde emissions class E1 in accordance with standard EN 13986. PEFC is a label that guarantees the consumer that the wood or paper comes from sustainably managed forests. PEFC, a non-governmental environmental organization, is the acronym for 'Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes'. The PEFC system, which is represented worldwide, is active in certification of sustainable forest management. In concrete terms, PEFC promotes forest management that is simultaneously environmentally friendly, socially beneficial and economically viable.
All wooden parts of our system walls consist of PEFC or FSC certified materials.
Painting the visible profiles according to the Qualicoat label. Insulation is done with mineral wool products, which are insensitive to aging, so that the properties are retained indefinitely. Rock wool is also germ-free and inorganic. It therefore cannot form a breeding ground for bacteria or fungi.
ENERGY CONSCIOUS
Pan-All wants to develop the environmental awareness and discipline of its employees in order to achieve concrete results through individual and communal initiatives. This is achieved, among other things, by encouraging the use of carpooling and bicycles. But also by saving energy, such as turning off the lights, computers and printers every evening, investing in energy-saving light bulbs and turning off the lights in unoccupied offices. When purchasing raw materials and new investments, the impact of the purchased goods on the environment is taken into account. If possible, a switch will be made to environmentally friendly raw materials and systems. When purchasing new installations and machines, possible environmentally harmful effects of the installations are taken into account during the study phase and, if necessary, measures are taken to prevent or limit nuisance.
TRANSITION TO SUSTAINABLE ENERGY
The transition to sustainable energy is already very advanced. For example, almost all diesel cars have been systematically replaced with hybrid or fully electric cars and air pollution and greenhouse emissions are minimized.
Almost 40% of our machinery is powered by 356 solar panels on the roof of our production halls. The necessary further electricity required consists of a combination of different types of completely green energy. This aspect is very important and is seen as paramount when renewing energy contracts.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
Good waste management is based on 3 pillars: prevention, sorting and recycling.
Avoiding waste should always be the first priority in waste management. An important first step is to consume sustainable materials, the use of which results in minimal waste. Most waste is selectively sorted. During sorting, an important point will be to ensure optimal separation of materials. Underlying this is the possibility of reuse, recycling or certain hazardous properties that will determine which materials need to be handled in appropriate facilities. In an optimal environmental policy it is necessary to provide for the separate collection of glass, paper and cardboard, PMD, wood, metal and various waste. It is important to plan the separation of recyclable products as early as possible in the production cycle. Of course, economic factors cannot be overlooked. This will often result in sorting and group disposal of different types of waste. It is important to ensure that the waste in question is not mixed with other products. It must be ensured at all times that these treatments are carried out in a way that takes the environment into account and guarantees absolute safety for the people who will be doing the triage. Both hazardous waste and other sorted waste are transported according to strict laws and regulations. Good waste management is never perfect. But it is continuously being worked on. Waste management is also constantly evolving, so our employees stay informed of new developments through regular workshops.
DEVELOP ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
Workshops or training sessions on environmental awareness are organized on a regular basis. In doing so, we highlight the basic principles of environmental awareness and show how individual actions can make a difference. We actively involve employees to provide ideas and suggestions for environmentally friendly initiatives. The feeling of involvement can be increased by letting them actively participate in green projects. The recent purchase of a paper and plastic baler has significantly simplified recycling facilities. With every purchase we consider the use of environmentally friendly products and materials in the office. Those responsible within the organization can be a powerful example. Managers are encouraged to embrace sustainable behaviour and demonstrate this so that it inspires others to do the same. We regularly evaluate the environmental performance of the organization and communicate the results to employees.
SAVING ENERGY
Pan-All wants to develop its employees' awareness and respect for the environment in order to achieve concrete results through individual and joint initiatives. This is further achieved by encouraging the use of a carpool system and cycling. Since extreme minimization of paper use is necessary, external correspondence only uses the traditional paper format when absolutely necessary. The use of paper, ink cartridges and toners is minimized by the systematic use of the digital and non-paper channel for any transfer of information that does not require printing. But also by saving energy, such as turning off lights, computers and printers every night, investing in energy-saving light bulbs and turning off lights in every unoccupied room. When purchasing raw materials and making new investments, we take into account the influence of products on the environment. In all possible cases, we switch to raw materials and systems that are most respectful of the environment. When purchasing new installations and machines, we take into account any negative effects on the environment and, if necessary, take measures to prevent or minimize the impact on the environment.
CHECKS AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS
PAN-ALL has developed its own monitoring and measuring device. This is managed by the environmental manager and 2 environmental assistants. The 2 environmental assistants provide day-to-day follow-up. The environmental manager is responsible for monitoring this and reports directly to management.
MONITORING AND MEASUREMENT
The performance of each project is evaluated based on the indicators defined for each year. The overall performance rating is assessed by combining the ratings from each operation.
NON-COMPLIANCE AND CORRECTIVE ACTION
Any malfunction that would generate an environmental impact will be informed and dealt with appropriately by the responsible services. Analysis of the severity and occurrence leads to corrective measures. All processing and corrective actions are recorded. These dysfunctions can be detected through internal and external audits, deviations from legal thresholds, external complaints, emergency solutions exercises, etc. The monitoring table for improvement actions is kept up to date and posted on the intranet, and is regularly reviewed.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
Water consumption and CO2 emissions are tracked and monitored:
CO2 emissions globally: 1. Direct emissions: 118.58 tons CO2eq / 2. Indirect emissions: 21.95 tons CO2eq
CO2 emissions from the fleet: 2718g over 20 cars in 2022: average emissions per car = 135.90g / 2173g over 19 cars in 2023: average emissions per car = 114.36g / Our fleet became 18% less burdensome in 1 year.
Water consumption: Despite our very low water consumption, we closely monitor our consumption. Consumption in the year 2022 was 173m³ and 146m³ in 2023. So 18% less water was used.
Number of internal information sessions regarding our environmental management system: 2022: 1 / 2023: 2 / Increase in number of information sessions by 1.
Supply Chain Sustainability: Percentage of suppliers surveyed about their environmental impact of products supplied to us. 2022: 0 / 2023: 29 / Increase in number of suppliers surveyed by 29.
RECYCLING OBJECTIVES
PAN-ALL's objective is to increase the use of recycled materials in the FLUSH partitions. PAN-ALL is currently unable to achieve these objectives due to its dependence on suppliers and the lack of evidence to certify the recycled materials already processed according to Cradle-to-Cradle standards. Therefore, the current percentages of recycled materials represent the maximum level that PAN-ALL can currently achieve. PAN-ALL is working on a strategy to achieve its recycling goals over time. This includes close cooperation with suppliers and mainly involves active efforts to collect the necessary evidence to claim the use of recycled materials in PAN-ALL partitions and thus certify them under the Cradle-to-Cradle standards.
In the first phase, our focus will be on manufacturers of the components that account for the largest % of the weight of our products (2024-2026): glass, chipboard, aluminum, steel and insulation.
In a 2 phase (2026-2030) we will encourage manufacturers for the smaller parts of our wall systems.
AUDITS
The environmental manager annually draws up an internal audit program that is validated in the management review.
MANAGEMENT REVIEW
A management review is carried out annually to assess the environmental management system and ensure that it remains appropriate, sufficient and effective with regard to the results observed for each of the projects during the completed period and the proportion of changes in the context of the planned missions. To decide on the necessary adjustments, the performance of the system is assessed annually as part of the management review.
